In the glass, the wine shows a deep garnet-purple color that hints at its concentration and aging potential. The nose opens with dried roses, kirsch, black cherries, and subtle notes of bay leaf and fallen leaves, giving it both perfume and complexity. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and firmly built, with bright red and black fruit at the core, polished tannins, and a lively herbal lift on the finish. The result is a wine with impressive balance and a long, chewy aftertaste that suggests excellent cellaring potential over the coming years. While the fruit leads the way, there is plenty of nuance underneath, with the oak adding structure rather than dominating the style. It is a Cabernet that feels both approachable in youth and capable of developing further depth with bottle age.

This wine comes from Inglenook’s estate vineyards in Rutherford, one of the most prized parts of Napa Valley, where the gravelly soils and warm days with cooling evening influences help Cabernet Sauvignon ripen beautifully while retaining freshness. The grapes are hand-harvested from carefully selected parcels, and vinification is carried out with a gentle touch to preserve the wine’s natural elegance and fruit purity. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 18 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, adding polish, spice, and subtle complexity without overshadowing the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve this Cabernet Sauvignon with richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, lamb chops, braised short ribs, or roast duck. It also pairs well with hard cheeses and earthy mushroom dishes. Best served at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if opened young, to allow the wine to fully express its aromatic depth and structured palate.

Today, the property is owned by Francis Ford Coppola and continues to hold a special place in Rutherford and the wider Napa Valley, with its organically farmed vineyards and highly sought-after wines earning international acclaim.
