Jacquesson Corne Bautray 2008 Magnum is a standout Blanc de Blancs Champagne from a tiny, highly sought-after parcel, bottled in a magnum to preserve freshness and amplify its complexity. Made entirely from Chardonnay and released without dosage, it reflects both precision and purity, with just 304 magnums produced and disgorged in April 2018. It is a Champagne built for enthusiasts who appreciate terroir-driven wines with real depth and aging potential.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a bright, youthful clarity, with a fine, elegant mousse and a luminous golden hue. The nose is expressive and layered, opening with citrus oil, clear honey, preserved rhubarb, and delicate hints of fresh pastry and brioche. On the palate, it is broad, concentrated, and multidimensional, yet held together by a sharp, vibrant line of acidity that gives the wine its energy and tension. The finish is long and precise, leaving a lingering impression of mineral depth and citrus complexity. Thanks to its structure and magnum format, it has excellent aging potential and should continue to evolve beautifully over time.

Viininvalmistus
Corne Bautray comes from a specific Chardonnay parcel in Champagne, where the cool climate and chalk-rich soils help shape the wine’s taut structure, mineral drive, and refined freshness. The grapes are harvested by hand, with the fruit selected to preserve the purity and expression of the site. After vinification, the wine was aged before being disgorged in April 2018 without dosage, allowing the vineyard character to speak clearly and the natural acidity to remain front and center.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Champagne pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as oysters, scallops, caviar, sashimi, or roast chicken with a light cream sauce, as well as aged Parmesan or other hard cheeses. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C to bring out its finesse and complexity. Decanting is generally not necessary, but allowing it a few minutes in the glass can help open up its layered aromatics.
