In the glass, this Champagne shows a beautiful, intense golden colour that immediately signals its maturity and richness. The nose is layered and enticing, with aromas of caramel, nougat, hazelnut, and freshly baked pastries, unfolding with impressive finesse. On the palate, it is generous yet beautifully focused, revealing notes of citrus fruit gratin, lime zest, and a long, persistent finish. Its depth and structure suggest excellent aging potential, though it is already offering considerable complexity and enjoyment now.

Krug Vintage is made from the most expressive wines of a single harvest, selected to reflect the personality of the year. The blend is composed of the traditional Champagne grapes—Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier—with proportions varying according to the vintage. After blending, the wine spends over ten years maturing in Krug’s cellars, allowing it to develop its signature richness, texture, and aromatic complexity.

Serve Krug 2000 chilled at around 9-11°C to appreciate its aromatic detail and fine mousse. It pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as lobster, roast langoustine, truffle risotto, mature Comté, or poultry with creamy sauces.
