Krug 2002 is a remarkable vintage Champagne that captures the elegance, power, and precision for which Champagne Krug is renowned. Crafted from a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier, it reflects the exceptional conditions of the 2002 harvest and the house’s signature long maturation in the cellar. As with every Krug Vintage, it is a unique expression of a single year, shaped into a wine of outstanding depth and longevity.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Krug 2002 shows a brilliant golden hue with a fine, persistent mousse that speaks to its extended aging. The bouquet is complex and refined, offering layers of ripe fruit, citrus, honey, almonds, and a subtle hint of spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and nuanced, combining freshness, generous fruit, and a delicate mineral streak with impressive harmony. The finish is long and sustained, leaving an elegant impression of both vibrancy and depth. While already very expressive, this vintage also has excellent aging potential and will continue to evolve beautifully over many years.

Viininvalmistus
The 2002 vintage benefited from ideal growing conditions, allowing the grapes to reach excellent ripeness while retaining the acidity needed for balance and structure. Krug Vintage is made only from the most expressive wines of a single harvest, with the final blend composed here of 40% Pinot Noir, 39% Chardonnay, and 21% Meunier. The wine then spends more than ten years resting in Krug’s cellars, developing its signature complexity and textural finesse.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Krug 2002 pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as lobster, scallops, caviar, roast poultry, truffle risotto, or aged hard cheeses. Serve it chilled at around 10-12°C. Decanting is generally not necessary, but a short airing in the glass can help reveal its full aromatic complexity.
