La Scolca Gavi dei Gavi Etichetta Nera is one of the benchmark expressions of Cortese from Piedmont, crafted with remarkable precision and a deep respect for the vineyard. Sourced from vines over 60 years old and guided by decades of family know-how, it is a wine known for its purity, elegance, and unmistakable Gavi character.

Makuprofiili
Pale straw in the glass, this wine shows a bright, refined appearance that hints at its freshness and finesse. The nose opens with delicate floral tones, citrus, green apple, and subtle mineral notes, alongside the signature hints of flint, almond, and hazelnut mentioned in the producer’s style. On the palate it is vibrant and harmonious, with crisp acidity, clean fruit, and a textured, persistent finish that feels both fresh and composed. Its structure suggests very good aging potential for a white wine of this style, with the nutty and mineral elements expected to deepen over time while retaining balance and lift. With a few years of cellaring, the wine can develop greater complexity without losing its essential freshness.

Viininvalmistus
The wine comes from historic vineyards in the Gavi area of Piedmont, where old vines and carefully managed parcels contribute to low yields and concentrated fruit. Harvesting is done with strict selection, cluster by cluster, to ensure only the best grapes are brought to the cellar. Vinification follows traditional family methods refined over more than 80 years, with close attention given to preserving the natural character, freshness, and precision of the Cortese grape.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Gavi pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish, sushi, light pasta dishes, grilled fish, and delicate white meats, as well as fresh goat cheese and vegetable-based starters. Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, to highlight its crispness and aromatic clarity. Decanting is not necessary, although allowing the wine a few minutes in the glass can help the subtle mineral and nutty nuances emerge.
