Latour 2007

Château Latour 2007 is a classic Pauillac from one of Bordeaux’s most prestigious First Growth estates, offering power, structure, and remarkable longevity. Even in a more supple vintage, it shows the deep character Latour is known for: dark fruit, fine mineral tension, and a polished yet ageworthy frame. With roots tracing back to the 14th century, this is a wine that carries real historical weight as well as exceptional pedigree.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Latour 2007 pours a dense ruby-purple color, hinting at its concentration and depth. The nose opens with ripe black fruits, floral notes, and a distinct mineral edge, layered with the kind of quiet complexity that develops over time. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied with a generous texture, softening tannins, and a surprisingly evolved profile for the vintage, while still retaining the structure expected from Château Latour. This is a wine built to age gracefully, with the potential to evolve over two decades or more. The finish is long and persistent, marked by dark fruit, savory earth, and that signature Pauillac grip that keeps everything in balance. While approachable compared with more muscular vintages, it still has the depth and frame to reward further cellaring.

Viininvalmistus
Château Latour is situated in Pauillac on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, where its vineyards benefit from an exceptional terroir of deep gravel, clay, and large rounded stones that absorb and radiate heat well into the evening. The estate is planted mainly to Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and small amounts of Cabernet Franc, and the fruit is harvested with a focus on preserving precision and ripe tannin. In recent years, the estate has shifted toward more sustainable viticulture, and the entire vineyard has been farmed organically since 2015, with horse ploughing and natural fertilization helping to maintain balance in the vineyard.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game, or truffle-rich preparations. It also works well with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening young, as this will help the wine reveal its full aromatic range and soften its structure.
