L’Aventure Cuvee Estate 2020

L’Aventure Cuvée Estate 2020 sits at the very top of what Paso Robles can deliver: a bold, polished, and deeply expressive red from one of the region’s most respected estates. Crafted by winemaker Stephan Asseo from a Rhône-meets-Bordeaux blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot, it brings together power, structure, and remarkable finesse. While it nods to classic French inspiration, its generous fruit and sun-soaked richness make it unmistakably Californian.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this is a deep ruby-red wine with impressive concentration and visual depth. The nose opens with layers of blackcurrant, blueberry, blackberry, plum, violets, and a subtle tarry note, giving it both dark-fruited intensity and aromatic complexity. On the palate, it is warm, ripe, and expansive, with the fruit taking center stage while fresh acidity keeps everything in balance. The texture is rich and powerful, finishing long and intense with plenty of structure for aging. This is a wine that will reward a few years in bottle, gaining further depth and harmony over time.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from sustainably farmed vineyards in Willow Creek, one of Paso Robles’ most prized growing areas, where warm days and cooling influences help produce ripe fruit with balance and concentration. The 2020 blend is composed of 50% Syrah, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Petit Verdot. After harvest, the wine was aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, with a high proportion of new oak—81%—adding depth, spice, and a polished frame to the final wine.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural match for grilled ribeye, lamb chops, braised short ribs, venison, or rich mushroom dishes. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses and hearty Mediterranean-inspired fare. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to let the aromas and texture open fully.
