Les Forts de Latour 2000

Les Forts de Latour 2000 is the distinguished second wine of Château Latour, offering a glimpse into one of Bordeaux’s most legendary estates. Crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, it combines the structure, depth, and precision expected from Pauillac with a more approachable expression than the Grand Vin. From a highly regarded vintage, it stands out for its balance, elegance, and classic Left Bank character.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Les Forts de Latour 2000 typically shows a deep ruby-garnet color with some mature development at the rim. The nose is layered and refined, with notes of blackcurrant, plum, cedar, tobacco, pencil shavings, and subtle spice, framed by earthy and savory nuances. On the palate, it is structured and concentrated, with firm but polished tannins, fresh acidity, and a core of dark fruit supported by graphite, leather, and hints of smoke. The finish is long and poised, showing the kind of quiet power associated with top Pauillac wines. It is drinking well now but should continue to evolve gracefully for years in a good cellar.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game birds, and rich mushroom dishes. Hard cheeses and truffle-based preparations also work very well. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1–2 hours if opened now to allow the aromas to fully open and the tannins to soften.
