Lucien le Moine’s Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2009 is a striking expression of Burgundy Pinot Noir from one of the region’s most coveted vineyards. Deeply concentrated yet refined, it combines dark fruit intensity, spice, and a polished structure that reflects both the power of the vintage and the elegance of the appellation. Charmes-Chambertin has long been prized for producing wines of sensual texture and depth, and this cuvée shows why Grand Cru status in Gevrey-Chambertin remains so revered.

In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby color with signs of graceful maturation. The nose opens with dark berries, black cherry, cinnamon, cloves, and subtle earthy undertones, lifted by a refined oak spice that frames rather than dominates the fruit. On the palate, it is muscular and intense but surprisingly light on its feet, with layered fruit, fine-grained tannins, and excellent precision. The finish is long, polished, and persistent, with both energy and harmony. While it can be enjoyed with extended aeration now, it also has the structure to age beautifully and continue developing over time.

Sourced from Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru in Burgundy, this wine comes from one of the Côte de Nuits’ most celebrated terroirs, where limestone-rich soils and an ideal exposure help Pinot Noir achieve remarkable depth and finesse. Lucien le Moine selects top-quality fruit from outstanding sites and works with a meticulous, hands-on approach. The wine is vinified and aged in new French oak barrels, kept on lees until bottling, and bottled without filtration to preserve purity, texture, and a strong sense of place.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Grand Cru Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as duck breast, roast quail, venison, beef tenderloin, or mushroom-based preparations. It also works well with truffled dishes and aged, nutty cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C and consider decanting for 1–2 hours, especially if opening now, to allow the wine’s aromas and structure to fully unfold.

Based in Beaune, the domaine is known for its uncompromising approach, tiny production, and focus on 1er Cru and Grand Cru wines from exceptional growers across the region. Their reputation for precision, innovation, and quality has earned them widespread acclaim among collectors and critics alike.
