Lucien le Moine’s 2010 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is a striking expression of one of Burgundy’s most revered vineyards, offering remarkable depth, finesse, and harmony. Made from Pinot Noir in a vintage widely praised for its balance, this wine reflects the producer’s meticulous, hands-on approach and its ability to capture the nuance of great terroir. With its blend of Charmes-Chambertin and Mazoyères-Chambertin character, it carries both prestige and individuality.

In the glass, this Grand Cru shows a beautifully polished ruby garnet hue with the clarity and vibrancy expected from fine Burgundy. The nose opens with sweet red berries, rose petals, and a layered thread of spice, followed by subtle earthy and mineral notes that add complexity. On the palate, it is fleshy yet precise, with silky tannins, vivid red fruit, and a seamless texture that gives the wine its sense of elegance. The finish is long and balanced, with spice and floral lift lingering gracefully. While already showing superb harmony, it has the structure and concentration to continue developing well through its peak drinking window and beyond.

Viininvalmistus
Sourced from the Grand Cru vineyards of Charmes-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits, the wine reflects a celebrated Burgundy terroir known for its limestone-rich soils and its ability to produce Pinot Noir with both richness and refinement. Lucien le Moine works with top growers and focuses on tiny, carefully selected parcels rather than large-scale production. The fruit is vinified in Beaune using the producer’s signature approach: élevage on the lees in new Burgundian oak barrels, late malolactic fermentation, and bottling directly from barrel without filtration. This minimal-intervention style is designed to preserve site expression, texture, and aromatic purity while adding depth and structure through judicious oak maturation.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as roast duck, pigeon, venison, beef fillet, or mushroom-based preparations that echo its earthy complexity. It also works well with truffled dishes, braised poultry, and aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow its aromas and texture to fully open.

Based in Beaune, they built their reputation on sourcing exceptional 1er Cru and Grand Cru parcels and vinifying them with a highly individual philosophy. Their wines have gained international acclaim for precision, purity, and the distinct sense of place they capture.
