Lucien le Moine’s Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2015 is a striking expression of one of the Côte de Nuits’ most powerful and mineral-driven vineyards. Sourced from three separate barrels and crafted in the house’s meticulous, low-intervention style, it combines Grand Cru depth with a distinctly rocky, tightly coiled character. Clos de la Roche has long been prized for producing structured, age-worthy Pinot Noir, and this vintage captures that classic reputation beautifully.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a healthy ruby-red color, still youthful and vibrant. The nose is immediately alluring, with ripe raspberry fruit lifted by notes of earth, smoke, and a subtle exotic spice. On the palate, it is firm, focused, and powerful, with a dry, saline edge that reflects the stony nature of Clos de la Roche. Rather than showing easy sweetness, the wine feels compact and serious, with impressive dimension and a distinctly masculine profile in its youth. It has the structure and concentration to age gracefully for many years, gaining nuance, silkiness, and aromatic complexity with cellaring.

Viininvalmistus
This Grand Cru comes from Clos de la Roche, a legendary vineyard in Morey-Saint-Denis known for its rocky soils and intensely mineral expression of Pinot Noir. Lucien le Moine works with selected top parcels and vinifies the wine in Beaune, following a carefully controlled, artisanal approach. The wines are aged on their lees in new classic Burgundy oak barrels and bottled unfiltered by hand, allowing the terroir to remain front and center in the finished wine.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an ideal wine for refined dishes such as roast duck, pigeon, venison, truffled poultry, or mushroom-based cuisine. It also pairs beautifully with hard, aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine to open and soften.

Known for their uncompromising attention to detail, they work only with selected premier and grand cru sites, vinifying and aging the wines in their own cellar in Beaune.
