Lucien le Moine Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru 2005 is a deeply impressive expression of Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy’s most prestigious climats. Sourced and crafted with the house’s uncompromising Grand Cru-focused approach, it captures both the power of Mazis-Chambertin and the precision for which Lucien le Moine has become famous. Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows the depth and concentration you would expect from a mature Grand Cru Burgundy, with a dark garnet core and subtle brick-toned edges beginning to appear with age. The bouquet is striking and layered, opening with black cherry, black raspberry, and licorice, then moving into salted meat, chalky minerals, and saline nuances that add remarkable complexity.
On the palate, it is powerful yet refined, with blazing ripe black fruit, impressive concentration, and a vivid mineral spine that keeps everything focused. There is enormous persistence on the finish, where grip and polish coexist beautifully. While already expressive, the structure and depth suggest excellent aging potential, especially for those who enjoy mature Burgundy with both intensity and finesse.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for refined, flavorful dishes such as roast duck, beef tenderloin, venison, game birds, or lamb with herbs. It also pairs beautifully with mushroom-based dishes and aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening now, especially to allow the wine’s aromatics and structure to fully unfold.

Lucien le Moine was founded in 1999 by Rotem and Mounir Saouma, who quickly established the house as one of Burgundy’s most talked-about and sought-after producers. Their approach is hands-on and uncompromising: they purchase top parcels from selected growers, vinify in their own cellar in Beaune, and bottle without filtration. Over the years, the domaine has earned a strong reputation for producing intensely expressive, terroir-driven wines from some of Burgundy’s greatest appellations, admired by critics and collectors alike.
