Lucien Le Moine’s Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Les Suchots 2005 is a beautifully concentrated Burgundy that captures both the power and finesse of this celebrated site. Made from Pinot Noir in one of Vosne-Romanée’s most prized vineyards, it combines ripe fruit, spice, and mineral depth in a style that has made Lucien Le Moine one of the most talked-about producers in the region. The 2005 vintage adds extra structure and intensity, promising a wine with real presence and remarkable age-worthy character.

In the glass, this Premier Cru shows a deep, youthful ruby core that hints at its concentration and pedigree. The nose is layered and expressive, with notes of black currant, blueberry, coriander, ginger, white truffle, musk, and citrus zest, unfolding with remarkable complexity. The palate is lavish and creamy, yet precise, with ripe, pure fruit at the center and an exotic spice lift that keeps everything vibrant. Despite its richness, the wine retains freshness and energy, with a mouth-coating texture and a long, persistent finish. Built from a great site and a strong vintage, it has the structure to age gracefully for many years, developing further nuance and tertiary complexity over time.

Les Suchots is a highly regarded Premier Cru vineyard in Vosne-Romanée, prized for its limestone-rich soils and its ability to produce Pinot Noir with both perfume and depth. Lucien Le Moine works with a hands-on approach, sourcing top parcels from selected growers and bringing the wine into their own cellar in Beaune for élevage. The wines are aged on their lees in new classic Burgundian oak barrels, with late malolactic fermentation and manual bottling directly from barrel without filtration, helping preserve texture, purity, and terroir expression.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs wonderfully with dishes that echo its elegance and depth, such as roast duck, guinea fowl, veal tenderloin, mushroom risotto, or game birds with a light sauce. It should be served at around 16–18°C, and decanting for about 30–60 minutes is recommended, especially if the bottle has been resting for some time, to allow the aromatics and layered fruit to fully open.

The estate has earned an impressive reputation among critics and collectors for producing wines of intensity, precision, and site transparency.
