Ojai Vineyard Chardonnay Rancho Ontiveros is a finely tuned expression of cool-climate California Chardonnay, offering precision, energy, and remarkable mineral drive. Sourced from Rancho Ontiveros Vineyard in Santa Maria Valley, it reflects the region’s maritime influence and the winery’s restrained, terroir-focused approach rather than a heavily oaked style.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Chardonnay shows a bright, crystalline profile with aromas of citrus blossom, green apple, crushed stone, and subtle notes of almond and wet slate. The palate is vibrant and focused, with electric acidity carrying pure fruit and a distinct salty mineral edge through the finish. Rather than richness or overt creaminess, the wine delivers tension, clarity, and elegance. It should age gracefully over the medium term, gaining a little more complexity while preserving its freshness and linear character.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Rancho Ontiveros Vineyard in Santa Maria Valley, a cool site shaped by Pacific breezes and morning fog that extend ripening and help preserve natural acidity. The fruit is hand-harvested and gently pressed, then the juice undergoes spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in neutral French oak barrels. There is no bâtonnage and only limited malolactic conversion, followed by 11 months of barrel maturation and bottling without fining and with minimal filtration to keep the wine as transparent to site as possible.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with shellfish, grilled white fish, roast chicken, creamy pasta, and dishes with lemon, herbs, or subtle nuttiness. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C, and decanting is generally unnecessary, though a brief airing can help the wine open in its youth.
