Pico Maccario Barolo DOCG 2019 is a refined expression of one of Piedmont’s most celebrated wines, crafted with the elegance and structure that have made Barolo famous worldwide. Hand-harvested Nebbiolo grapes and traditional aging in Slovenian oak give this wine its hallmark balance, floral complexity, and impressive depth, while its large-format 300 cl bottle makes it especially suited to aging and sharing.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Barolo shows the classic deep garnet hue expected from Nebbiolo, with the brightness and transparency that hint at its finesse. The nose is immediately captivating, offering an intense floral profile of lavender alongside ripe cherries and layered aromatic complexity. On the palate, it delivers elegance and balance, with vivid fruit, polished tannins, and the kind of structure Barolo is known for. Despite its youth, it already offers a charming and expressive drinking experience, while its firm backbone suggests excellent aging potential over many years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes are carefully hand-harvested to preserve quality and ensure only the best fruit enters the cellar. Vinification follows traditional methods, including maceration for 13 to 15 days, after which the wine matures for 18 months in Slovenian oak casks and is then aged for a further year in bottle. This approach helps shape the wine’s elegance, texture, and classic Barolo character.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Barolo pairs beautifully with rich dishes such as braised beef, roast lamb, game, truffle pasta, and mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours when drinking young to allow the aromatics and tannins to खुल fully.
