Pico Maccario Barolo DOCG di Serralunga 2018 is a refined expression of one of Piedmont’s most celebrated crus, combining power, elegance, and impressive aromatic depth. Produced from carefully hand-harvested grapes and shaped by a patient traditional approach, it reflects both the distinctive character of Serralunga and the timeless prestige of Barolo.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Barolo shows a classic garnet-red hue that hints at its elegance and structure. The nose is fresh and layered, opening with red cherry and raspberry, then unfolding into seductive floral and perfumed notes with a subtle lift of spice. On the palate, it is beautifully balanced, with a graceful yet assertive structure and finely woven tannins that feel both elegant and feminine. Warm spices carry through the finish, while the wine’s complexity suggests excellent aging potential over the coming years, allowing its aromatics and texture to develop further in bottle.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted so that only the best fruit is used, ensuring precision and purity from the outset. Vinification follows a traditional method over at least 15 days, allowing for a measured extraction that preserves finesse and structure, before the wine is aged for 9 to 10 months in Slovenian oak casks and then rested in bottle for a full year.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Barolo is a natural match for braised meats, game, truffle dishes, and richly flavored mushroom risottos, as well as aged cheeses. Serve it at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least one to two hours if enjoying it young, to help the aromatics open and the tannins soften.
