Pintia 2019

Pintia 2019 is a powerful and refined Tempranillo from Toro, crafted by the renowned Vega Sicilia family. Combining intensity, depth, and elegance, it stands out for its dark fruit character, notable structure, and the unmistakable influence of careful oak aging. Since its first release in 2001, Pintia has quickly earned a place among the region’s most respected wines.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Pintia 2019 shows a deep ruby-red color that hints at its concentration and richness. The nose opens with layered aromas of dark forest berries, vanilla, leather, and tobacco, supported by subtle oak spice from its time in French and American barrels. On the palate, it is full-bodied and complete, with ripe Tempranillo fruit, firm tannins, and a bold, savory backbone that reflects both the Toro climate and the wine’s careful élevage. This is a wine with excellent aging potential, likely to gain even more complexity and finesse over time.

Viininvalmistus
Pintia comes from 96 hectares of vineyards in Toro, in Castilla y León, a region known for its harsh continental climate, low yields, and naturally intense grapes. The Tempranillo vines are treated with great care to preserve fruit quality, and the wine is matured for 12 to 15 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, which adds structure, spice, and aromatic complexity without overshadowing the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Pintia 2019 is an excellent match for grilled red meats, roast lamb, game, and rich dishes such as braised beef or mature hard cheeses. Serve it at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours to help the wine खुलen and show its full aromatic depth and texture.

Pintia is the Toro project of Bodegas Vega Sicilia, one of Spain’s most prestigious wine estates. Recognizing the region’s potential, Vega Sicilia invested heavily in local vineyards and created Pintia to showcase Toro’s power and character in a more polished style. Under the guidance of winemaker Xavier Ausás López de Castro, the estate has built a strong reputation for producing wines of exceptional intensity, balance, and personality.
