Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée Rare Brut Rosé 2008 is an exceptional vintage Champagne that brings together finesse, depth, and remarkable complexity. Crafted from a precise blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a portion of Pinot Noir vinified as red wine, it stands out for its elegant salmon-pink colour and its layered, highly refined style. A release from one of Champagne’s most respected houses, it reflects both the quality of the outstanding 2008 vintage and the savoir-faire behind Piper-Heidsieck’s prestige cuvées.
Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Champagne shows an intense salmon hue with subtle copper reflections, hinting at its maturity and concentration. The nose is expressive and multi-dimensional, opening with ripe raspberries, wild strawberries, and blood orange, followed by rose petals, liquorice, ginger, and a delicate pastry note.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and vibrant, with bright acidity giving lift to the wine’s rich red berry, pomegranate, and citrus peel flavours. As it unfolds, notes of almond and brioche add silkiness and depth, while a long, mineral finish leaves a lingering impression of spice and freshness. Thanks to its structure and the strength of the 2008 vintage, it has excellent ageing potential and can continue to evolve gracefully in bottle.
Viininvalmistus
This cuvée is made primarily from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sourced from Champagne’s finest vineyard sites, where chalk-rich soils help preserve freshness, precision, and mineral tension. A small proportion of the Pinot Noir is vinified as red wine to create the rosé colour and add additional aromatic depth. The wine has been aged in the cellars of Piper-Heidsieck for more than a decade, allowing the structure of the vintage to integrate with the wine’s creamy texture and complex secondary aromas.
Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a Champagne that shines with refined dishes such as salmon, veal, mushroom risotto, or anything finished with truffle. It also works beautifully with elegant seafood preparations or can be served as a celebratory aperitif. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally not recommended, though a short moment in the glass will help the aromas open fully.
