Planeta Cabernet Franc Didacus 2020

Planeta Didacus 2020 is a refined Cabernet Franc from Sicily, crafted from carefully selected grapes grown near Menfi. Named after Diego Planeta’s nickname, it stands as a tribute to the founder’s vision and his pursuit of one of the estate’s most ambitious projects. This is a distinctive red wine that brings together Sicilian character and the elegance of one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated grapes.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Didacus 2020 is likely to show a deep ruby color with youthful intensity. The nose is typically expressive and layered, with Cabernet Franc’s hallmark notes of red berries, blackcurrant leaf, violet, herbs, and subtle spice, supported by a polished, Mediterranean warmth. On the palate, the wine is expected to be structured yet graceful, with fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a core of ripe dark fruit balanced by savory, earthy tones. Its balance and depth suggest good aging potential, allowing the wine to develop greater complexity over time.

Viininvalmistus
Didacus is produced from the best Cabernet Franc grapes, hand-harvested in vineyards near Menfi in western Sicily. The warm Sicilian climate is tempered by coastal influences and local soils that help preserve freshness while encouraging full ripeness. The wine is vinified with precision to express the purity of the fruit and the varietal character of Cabernet Franc, while maintaining elegance and structure.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, grilled beef, duck, mushroom dishes, and aged cheeses, as well as Mediterranean preparations with herbs and rich sauces. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting for about 1 hour is recommended, especially when the wine is young, to allow its aromas and texture to fully open up.
