Porte Rouge AURA – Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2022

Porte Rouge AURA is a distinctive Châteauneuf-du-Pape that highlights the elegance and finesse of the sandy Colombis vineyard. Built primarily on old-vine Grenache and shaped by the estate’s careful approach, it offers a more refined expression of this famous Rhône appellation. First released in 2021, AURA already stands out as a modern cuvée with deep roots in one of France’s most historic wine regions.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, AURA shows a transparent ruby-red colour that hints at its graceful style rather than sheer power. The nose is complex and lifted, with aromas of fresh strawberry, kirsch, white pepper, garrigue, and forest floor. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a lovely sense of freshness, fine structure, and a clean, long finish. The sandy terroir brings finesse and purity, while the combination of old vines and careful ageing gives the wine enough depth to evolve beautifully over the next several years.

Viininvalmistus
Cuvée AURA comes from the sandy Colombis parcel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where the soil helps create a wine of notable elegance and precision. The blend is composed of about 90% Grenache, supported by 10% other local varieties from old vines. The grapes are gently fermented over three weeks, then the wine is matured for 24 months in old Burgundy oak barrels to preserve fruit character while adding complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, game birds, herb-roasted vegetables, ratatouille, and dishes with Provençal seasoning. Serve it slightly cool, ideally around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromatics and texture to fully open.
