Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2002

Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 is a benchmark Washington Cabernet, showing just how refined and powerful the state can be in the right hands. Crafted entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon and sourced mainly from the celebrated Champoux Vineyard, this is a serious, age-worthy wine with both concentration and harmony. Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine is deeply colored, nearly black, hinting at its concentration and intensity. The nose is layered and expressive, with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry framed by notes of black truffle, violets, pencil lead, dark chocolate, and sweet pipe tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied, richly textured, and remarkably polished, with deep fruit wrapped around fine-grained tannins and beautifully integrated oak. The finish is long, elegant, and complex, showing both structure and balance. While already impressive, this is a wine with excellent aging potential and will continue to develop gracefully over many years.

Viininvalmistus
This Cabernet Sauvignon comes primarily from the legendary Champoux Vineyard, with the remaining fruit sourced from Mach One Vineyards, both located in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA in Washington. The region’s warm, dry climate and well-suited soils provide ideal conditions for ripe, balanced Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are hand-harvested, and the wine is aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels, which adds depth, spice, and structure to the final blend.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine that pairs beautifully with richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, venison, or hearty mushroom-based preparations. It is best served at around 16-18°C, and decanting for at least 1-2 hours is recommended, especially if the bottle is opened now rather than cellared further.
