Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a benchmark Washington red that shows just how refined and powerful Cabernet Sauvignon can be in the right hands. Crafted entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon and sourced from two of the region’s most respected vineyards, it combines depth, precision, and remarkable harmony in a style that has helped define the modern reputation of Washington Cabernet.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine is deep and nearly inky, signaling its concentration and intensity. The nose opens with layered aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry, followed by more complex notes of black truffle, violet, pencil lead, dark chocolate, and sweet pipe tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied, silky, and beautifully structured, with rich dark fruit supported by finely tuned spice, polished tannins, and a long, elegant finish. Despite its youthful energy, the wine is already remarkably balanced, though it has the structure and concentration to develop further over the next decade or more.

Viininvalmistus
This Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the famed Champoux Vineyard, which contributes 90% of the blend, and Mach One Vineyard, which provides the remaining 10%, both located in the highly regarded Horse Heaven Hills AVA in Washington. The region’s warm climate and well-suited soils are ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon, allowing for full ripeness and excellent tannin development. Harvesting is done entirely by hand to preserve fruit quality, and the wine is aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels, lending depth, structure, and a refined layer of spice.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural match for richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, lamb with herbs, braised short ribs, or roasted game, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16-18°C and consider decanting for at least 1-2 hours, especially if enjoying it young, to allow the wine to खुल fully and soften its tannins.
