R. López de Heredia Viña Tondonia Blanco Gran Reserva 2001 is a remarkably rare white Rioja from one of Spain’s most respected traditional producers. Crafted from Viura and Malvasía and aged with extraordinary patience, it reflects the classic elegance and depth that have made López de Heredia a benchmark in the region for generations.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a beautiful golden hue that immediately hints at its long maturation. The nose is restrained yet highly expressive, with a perfumed, complex character that unfolds slowly and rewards attention. On the palate, it is round, smooth, and layered, carrying a lasting aromatic finish with remarkable balance and texture. Its extended aging has given it impressive complexity and structure, while the overall harmony suggests it can continue to develop further in bottle for years to come.

Viininvalmistus
This Gran Reserva white is made from 90% Viura and 10% Malvasía, sourced in Rioja and produced in the traditional style for which López de Heredia is famous. The wine is matured for 10 years in oak barrels before spending additional time in bottle prior to release, allowing it to gain depth, finesse, and the slow oxidative complexity that defines the producer’s style.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with refined dishes such as roasted poultry, turbot, lobster, creamy seafood preparations, aged cheeses, or mushroom risotto. Serve lightly chilled, ideally around 12-14°C, and consider decanting briefly if the wine seems tightly wound on opening.
