Domaine Raveneau’s Chablis Grand Cru Valmur 2012 is a beautiful example of how great Chablis can evolve with time, gaining depth and complexity without losing its precision. From one of the most respected names in Burgundy, this Grand Cru combines the chiselled mineral profile Chablis is known for with the concentration and finesse of a low-yield vintage.

In the glass, the wine shows the quiet confidence of maturity, with a luminous golden hue that reflects over a decade of development. The nose unfolds with layers of ripe citrus, dried white flowers, subtle hazelnut, and a distinct chalky mineral character, all framed by a fresh, focused energy. On the palate, Valmur 2012 is precise and vibrant, with elegant fruit wrapped around a firm mineral backbone. The finish is long and saline, carrying both richness and tension. While it is already compelling in its mature phase, the wine still has the structure to continue developing for several more years.

This wine is a natural match for refined dishes such as lobster, scallops, turbot, roast chicken with cream sauce, or risotto with mushrooms and aged cheese. Serve it lightly chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider decanting for a short period if opened now to allow its aromatic layers to fully emerge.
