Realm Farella 2018

Realm Farella 2018 is a single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon that captures the elegant, site-driven side of Napa Valley. Sourced exclusively from the Farella Vineyard at the foot of the Vaca Mountains, it combines ripe fruit, floral lift, graphite, and a distinctly mineral edge in a classic, age-worthy style. Since Realm has produced Farella as a Single Vineyard Cabernet since 2003, it has become a benchmark expression of this cooler Napa site.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows deep color and the concentration you’d expect from a serious Cabernet Sauvignon, yet it remains refined rather than overly dense. Aromas unfold with black and red fruits, floral notes, graphite, and a subtle seasoning of oak spice, all carried by a fresh, cool-climate energy. On the palate, the 2018 vintage is full-bodied and structured, with firm tannins, bright acidity, and impressive mineral tension. The fruit profile is layered and precise, showing both richness and elegance, while the long finish leaves behind savory spice and stony nuances. This is a wine built for cellaring and should continue to evolve beautifully over the next decade or more.

Viininvalmistus
Farella comes entirely from Farella Vineyard in one of the cooler areas of Napa Valley, where 25 hectares of vines are divided into multiple blocks at elevations between 300 and 500 feet. The varied slopes create distinct microclimates and soil compositions, with the highest site featuring a high proportion of stone and gravel that gives the wine its structure and mineral character. The grapes are harvested with a focus on preserving freshness and site expression, and the wine is then aged for 16 months in French oak, 75% of it new, to frame the fruit without overshadowing the vineyard character.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, or mushroom-based dishes that can match its depth and structure. It also works well with aged hard cheeses and truffle-inflected cuisine. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least one hour to let the aromatics open and the tannins soften.
