Ridge Vineyards Geyserville 2021 is one of California’s most celebrated old-vine blends, built around Zinfandel with supporting roles from Carignan and Petite Sirah. First made in 1966, it has earned iconic status for its depth, balance, and remarkable sense of place, with some of the vineyard’s oldest parcels now dating back well over a century.

Deep dark ruby in the glass, this vintage opens with aromas of dark cherry, spice, cola, mint, and a subtle earthy edge. On the palate, ripe dark fruit is layered with pomegranate, rose petal, cocoa, and a smoky note that carries through a long, polished finish. Despite its power, the wine feels beautifully composed, with freshness and structure keeping the fruit in check. The 2021 has excellent aging potential and should continue to develop complexity over the coming years, rewarding patience with even more nuance and harmony.

Viininvalmistus
Geyserville Vineyard sits in one of California’s most distinctive Zinfandel-growing areas, where old vines bring concentration, character, and natural balance to the blend. Ridge handcrafts the wine from carefully selected parcels, with Zinfandel typically making up around 70% and the rest coming from Carignan, Petite Sirah, and Alicante Bouschet. The wine is matured for 13 months in American oak, with only about 10% new barrels, allowing the fruit and vineyard character to remain front and center.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a versatile, food-friendly red that works especially well with grilled lamb, barbecue, braised short ribs, peppered steak, or rich tomato-based dishes. It also pairs nicely with roasted vegetables and hard, aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider a short decant to help the aromas open up and the wine show at its best.
