Ridge Vineyards Petite Sirah Lytton Estate 2019 is a striking, old-vine expression of one of California’s most characterful grapes. Here, Petite Sirah takes center stage, drawing on fruit from the historic Lytton Springs Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley, where the variety has been grown since 1901. Crafted by Ridge’s winemaking team, it offers impressive depth, purity, and value in a style that captures both tradition and modern precision.

Makuprofiili
The wine pours an inky, almost opaque purple, immediately signalling its intensity. On the nose, it opens with vibrant blue fruit layered with leather, licorice, lavender, menthol, and a subtle earthy, stony edge. The palate is full-bodied and highly expressive, with dense fruit framed by fresh acidity and firm structure. The aromatic notes carry through beautifully, giving the wine a layered, mouth-filling feel that remains balanced rather than heavy. With its concentration and tannic backbone, this is a wine built to evolve well over the next several years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Lytton Springs Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley, a site long associated with old-vine field blends and sustainable farming. Petite Sirah has a documented history here dating back to 1901, giving the wine a strong sense of place and heritage. The fruit is sustainably grown, destemmed before pressing, and the finished wine is aged for 12 months in American oak barrels, 20% of them new, to add spice, polish, and subtle structure without overshadowing the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural match for richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, barbecue, lamb, or hearty mushroom dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C for the best balance of fruit and structure. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if enjoyed young, to help the wine open fully and soften its tannins.
