Salon Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs (Cuvée S) Brut Champagne 1997 is one of the rarest expressions of Champagne, crafted by the legendary Salon house, known for producing only exceptional vintage Blanc de Blancs. Made exclusively from 100% Chardonnay grown in the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, it reflects the purity, precision, and mineral intensity that have made Salon a benchmark for collectors and connoisseurs alike. Produced only in outstanding years, Salon has long carried a near-mythical reputation for patience, restraint, and uncompromising quality.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this vintage Champagne typically shows a luminous golden hue with a refined, persistent mousse. The nose is layered and expressive, offering mature citrus, white flowers, subtle honey, toasted nuts, and a delicate chalky minerality that speaks to its Grand Cru origin. On the palate, it is deep, structured, and wonderfully focused, with ripe orchard fruit, lemon zest, brioche, and saline mineral notes unfolding with impressive complexity. Despite its age, it retains a vivid freshness and elegant tension, giving it both immediate appeal and the capacity to continue aging gracefully for years in a well-kept cellar.

Viininvalmistus
The Chardonnay for Salon comes exclusively from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Côte des Blancs, a terroir famed for its chalk-rich soils and cool climate that produce wines of precision, elegance, and pronounced minerality. Grapes are harvested by hand from Grand Cru parcels, and Salon’s production remains extremely limited, with the house only releasing wine in exceptional vintages. Vinification is carried out with meticulous care to preserve the purity of fruit and the distinctive character of the terroir, followed by extended aging on the lees to build depth and complexity before disgorgement.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best served chilled at around 8–10°C, this Champagne pairs beautifully with fine seafood such as oysters, lobster, scallops, and caviar, as well as delicate poultry or dishes with creamy, refined sauces. A short aeration in the glass can help reveal its aromatic layers, but decanting is generally not recommended unless the bottle has been resting in cellar for many years and shows a particularly reserved profile.
