Sandrone Barbera d'Alba 2023

Sandrone Luciano’s Barbera d'Alba 2023 is a beautifully balanced expression of one of Piedmont’s most important native grapes. Sourced from carefully selected hillside vineyards on the Barolo slopes, it brings together vivid fruit, regional character, and a refined style shaped by thoughtful cellar work and a touch of oak aging.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby color with youthful brightness. The nose leans toward ripe red and black cherries, plum, and a fresh, fragrant lift, with subtle spice and a gentle wooded note from aging in barrel. On the palate, Barbera’s natural generosity comes through in its juicy fruit, lively acidity, and supple but present tannins. The wine feels polished rather than heavy, with a harmonious structure that makes it immediately appealing while still giving it the depth to evolve gracefully over the next few years.

Viininvalmistus
This Barbera comes from seven vineyards planted on the hills of Barolo in Piedmont, where marl-rich, compact soils and favorable exposure help the grapes ripen slowly and evenly. Each vineyard is hand-harvested and vinified separately to preserve its distinct character, before the wines are blended and aged for 15 months in wood, including a proportion of new barrels, to round out the wine’s structure and integrate its natural fruit and tannin.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a versatile food wine, ideal with roasted poultry, rich pasta dishes, braised meats, grilled sausages, and aged cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decanting is optional but can help open the aromatics if enjoyed young.
