Shafer Vineyards’ One Point Five Cabernet Sauvignon is a Napa Valley classic with a story rooted in family, crafted to reflect both power and finesse. Originally named to honor the collaboration between John and Doug Shafer — a “generation and a half” partnership — it has become a benchmark for the rich, structured style of Stags Leap District Cabernet.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine is a deep purple almost black at the core, signaling its concentration and intensity. Aromatically, it opens with blackcurrant, blackberry and dark plum, layered with licorice, eucalyptus, tar, and a hint of ash. On the palate, the dark fruit profile continues, joined by truffle, cigar box, licorice, and well-integrated oak, all framed by broad, polished tannins. The finish is long and persistent, with the kind of depth and structure that promises excellent development over time. While it is already impressive now, this is a wine built for aging and should gain even more nuance and complexity with cellaring.

Viininvalmistus
This wine comes from the Stags Leap District in Napa Valley, a region known for producing Cabernet Sauvignon that combines rich fruit with notable elegance and structure. The blend is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and 3% Malbec, and it was aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak, which adds spice, polish, and depth to the wine’s naturally concentrated fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural match for rich dishes such as ribeye steak, grilled lamb, braised short ribs, or hearty mushroom-based dishes. It also works beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended to let the wine open fully and soften its tannins.
