Dark Blossom 2011 is a blend led by 84% Syrah, supported by Grenache, Petite Sirah, Roussanne, and Petite Manseng, reflecting Sine Qua Non’s creative Rhône-style approach. The wine was fermented with 17% whole clusters and aged in a combination of new and used French oak, contributing both structure and finesse. Sourced from Sine Qua Non’s California vineyards, the wine expresses the warm, sun-drenched character of the region while maintaining freshness and definition.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Syrah pairs beautifully with rich, flavorful dishes such as grilled lamb, braised short ribs, roast duck, venison, or charcuterie-heavy platters. It also works well with pepper-crusted steak and hearty mushroom dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromatics and texture to open fully.

Sine Qua Non, often abbreviated as SQN, was founded in 1994 by Austrian-born winemaker Manfred Krankl and his wife Elaine. Based in Ventura County with vineyard sources largely in Santa Barbara, the estate has become one of California’s most celebrated cult wineries, known for limited-production Rhône-inspired wines and highly collectible releases. Early critical acclaim, including a standout score from Robert Parker for the first Syrah release, helped establish SQN as a benchmark producer in the region.
