Vérité La Joie 2014 is a compelling California Cabernet Sauvignon-led blend that brings together Bordeaux-inspired structure with the richness and concentration of Sonoma fruit. Crafted by Pierre Seillan, it stands out for its layered complexity, polished texture, and remarkable ageability, making it one of the estate’s most celebrated wines.

In the glass, La Joie 2014 shows a deep spicy black-purple color, hinting at its power and intensity. The nose is beautifully expressive, with aromas of camphor, black truffle, pen ink, blackcurrants, and unsmoked cigar tobacco, all woven together with remarkable purity. On the palate, the wine is opulent yet precise, unfolding in layers of dark fruit, savory notes, and glycerin-rich texture. The finish is long, multidimensional, and elegantly structured, with the balance to develop beautifully over time. Robert Parker awarded it 97+ points, and it is built for aging: give it 2–5 years in bottle, then enjoy over the following decades.

La Joie is produced from fruit sourced from some of Jackson Family Wines’ finest holdings in Alexander Valley, Chalk Hill, and Knights Valley, where warm California sunshine is tempered by cooling influences that help preserve freshness and structure. The 2014 blend is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, reflecting a meticulous Bordeaux-inspired approach. Pierre Seillan selects the best parcels each vintage, shaping the wine through careful blending to emphasize depth, balance, and complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a powerful, elegant red that pairs beautifully with prime rib, ribeye steak, braised short ribs, venison, and dishes featuring mushrooms or truffles. It also works well with aged hard cheeses and rich, savory preparations. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young, to allow the wine to fully open and show its aromatic detail.
