In the glass, La Grande Dame 2008 shows a refined golden hue with a polished, elegant appearance. The nose opens with layers of dried fruit such as almonds, figs, and apricots, lifted by fresh pear and accented by roasted hazelnut and praline, creating a beautiful balance between brightness and richness. On the palate, this is an intense and silky Champagne with impressive structure. Cherry and citrus notes bring freshness and tension to the wine’s creamy texture, while the high proportion of Pinot Noir gives it breadth, depth, and a confident, lingering finish. This is a vintage with excellent aging potential and will continue to gain complexity over time.

La Grande Dame 2008 is sourced primarily from Veuve Clicquot’s historic Grand Cru vineyards in Aÿ, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Verzy, and Verzenay, with the Chardonnay coming from the house’s Le Mesnil-sur-Oger vineyard. The terroir brings together the power and aromatic richness of Pinot Noir with the precision and tension of Chardonnay. The grapes are harvested by hand, as required in Champagne, and the wine is vinified to preserve freshness, structure, and the layered character of the vintage.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Champagne pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as scallops, lobster, white fish, roast chicken, truffle risotto, or aged hard cheeses. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C to allow the aromatics and texture to unfold fully. Decanting is generally not recommended for Champagne, but allowing it a few minutes in the glass can help reveal its more subtle layers.
