Walter Hansel Chardonnay Cuvée Alyce 2022 is a generous, characterful California Chardonnay that balances richness with finesse. Named by winemaker Stephen Hansel after his mother Alyce, the wine captures her larger-than-life energy with vibrant fruit, polished oak influence, and a sense of fun that makes it instantly appealing.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a beautiful golden hue that hints at its ripe, expressive style. The nose opens with peach, apricot, citrus, orange marmalade, toasted almonds, and a subtle lift of fresh ginger. The palate is both creamy and surprisingly graceful, delivering layers of lemon curd, pink grapefruit, pineapple, roasted nuts, honey, and freshly baked brioche. The texture is full yet lively, with enough freshness to keep each sip moving. This is a Chardonnay with excellent balance and enough structure to age gracefully for several years, gaining even more complexity and depth over time.

Viininvalmistus
This cuvée is built from three different Chardonnay clones, selected to bring complexity and personality to the blend. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed, and the juice was matured in French oak barrels, a traditional method that adds texture, spice, and depth while preserving the wine’s aromatic purity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve this Chardonnay with roast chicken, lobster, grilled scallops, creamy pasta, or dishes with butter, citrus, and nutty accents. It is best enjoyed slightly chilled, around 10–12°C, and does not typically require decanting, though a short period in the glass can help it open beautifully.
