E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Turque 2015

E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Turque 2015 is one of the Rhône Valley’s most sought-after Syrah-based wines, sourced from the famed La Turque parcel on the Côte Brune. Crafted from 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier, it combines power, perfume, and precision in a style that has made La Turque a benchmark among top Côte-Rôties.

In the glass, it shows a deep, dark purple color that hints at its concentration and depth. The nose is layered and expressive, with dark berries, violet, spice, pepper, licorice, and subtle toasted notes unfolding over time. The palate is dense and intensely flavored, balancing rich dark fruit with a vibrant acidity and very fine, silky tannins. The finish is exceptionally long and persistent, with the structure to age beautifully for many years, gaining even more complexity with cellaring.

Viininvalmistus
La Turque comes from a prized vineyard site on Côte Brune, where schist and iron-rich soils contribute to the wine’s mineral backbone, structure, and depth. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented together, then aged for around 40 months in new French oak barrels, a long élevage that adds polish, spice, and remarkable complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine that calls for equally expressive dishes such as roasted lamb, beef filet, game, truffle-based dishes, or slow-cooked meats with herbs and dark sauces. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended to let the wine open fully and reveal its full aromatic range.
