Adelina Estate Introspect 2022

Adelina Estate Introspect 2022 is a wonderfully unconventional red blend from South Australia, built from Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro, Ugni Blanc, Roussanne, and Carignan grown on the same vineyard. Winemaker Col McBryde has crafted a Rhône-inspired wine that feels both thoughtful and a little rebellious, combining lift, spice, and texture in a way that stands out from more traditional Australian reds.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this is a vibrant, pale-to-medium-bodied red with a bright, almost translucent appearance that hints at its lighter, more aromatic style. The nose is expressive and layered, offering red cherries, raspberries, orange peel, honey, white flowers, and a subtle earthy note that adds depth. On the palate, Introspect is elegant and slightly dry, with lively acidity and a graceful flow that keeps the wine fresh and focused. The blend brings a mix of red fruit, spice, and gentle herbal complexity, making for a wine that is both easy to enjoy now and interesting enough to reward a few years in bottle, though it is already drinking beautifully.

Viininvalmistus
The fruit comes from a single vineyard in South Australia, where Rhône varieties are planted together and harvested by hand to preserve quality and precision. After picking, the grapes were destemmed and fermented before the wine spent 9 months maturing in large, neutral oak barrels, a choice that supports texture and integration without masking the wine’s aromatic detail.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a versatile food wine that works especially well with roasted duck, herb-crusted pork, grilled poultry, mushroom dishes, ratatouille, and Mediterranean-inspired plates with olive oil and fresh herbs. Serve it slightly chilled, around 14–16°C, and decanting is optional but can help open up the aromatic complexity if enjoyed young.
