Astrales Ribera del Duero 2020

Astrales Ribera del Duero 2020 is a powerful yet polished expression of Tempranillo from one of Spain’s most celebrated red-wine regions. Crafted from carefully selected Tinto Fino grapes grown in Anguix and Burgos, it combines concentration, elegance, and a clear sense of place, shaped by chalky clay soils and thoughtful oak aging.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep cherry-red color that hints at its richness and structure. The nose is generous and layered, offering dark berries such as blackberry and plum, alongside notes of tobacco, spice, and a subtle smoky edge. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and balanced, with a creamy texture, ripe fruit, and fine tannins that give it both grip and finesse. The 15% alcohol is seamlessly integrated, adding warmth and depth rather than heaviness. With its solid structure and oak influence, it has good aging potential and should continue to develop complexity over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from selected vineyards in Anguix and Burgos, where limestone and clay soils help produce wines with freshness, structure, and mineral depth. After a careful hand-sorting, the fruit undergoes around 15 days of fermentation and maceration before being matured for 18 months in new French oak barrels, a process that adds complexity, spice, and a refined frame to the wine.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for grilled or roasted red meats, lamb, game, and rich dishes like braised short ribs or mushroom-based stews. It also pairs well with aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended to allow the wine to खुल fully and soften its tannins.
