Makuprofiili
In the glass, Malabrigo 2021 shows a deep cherry-red color with violet highlights. The nose is intense and layered, offering ripe black fruits such as blackberry and blackcurrant alongside notes of licorice, herb-spice, and warm vanilla from barrel aging. On the palate, it is rounded and silky, with mature tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, persistent finish. Flavors of tobacco, dark chocolate, and a subtle balsamic nuance emerge toward the end, giving the wine both depth and complexity. It is generous and approachable now, but its firm structure suggests it will continue to evolve gracefully over many years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Finca Malabrigo, a high-altitude single parcel in Castilla y León where sandy clay soils, strong temperature swings, and northern wind exposure help produce concentrated fruit with vibrant aromatic character and cooling mineral acidity. Harvesting is done by hand at optimal ripeness in late September, followed by destemming and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks over approximately 26 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place directly in French oak barrels, and the wine is then aged for around 18 months, often in new oak, with no fining and minimal filtration to preserve texture and terroir expression.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve this wine with rich dishes such as roast lamb, grilled beef, Iberian pork, game, or slow-braised stews, as well as mature hard cheeses. The ideal serving temperature is 16–18°C, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended to allow the wine’s aromatic depth and structure to fully open up.
