Dugat-Py Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru 2012

Dugat-Py’s Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2012 is a beautifully expressive Burgundy that combines the depth of old-vine Pinot Noir with the precision the domaine is known for. Sourced from the upper parcels of this prestigious Grand Cru site, it brings together concentration, finesse, and the unmistakable elegance of one of Gevrey-Chambertin’s most admired vineyards.

Makuprofiili
Now with around a decade of bottle age, the wine shows a refined, mature profile with a deep ruby to garnet hue. On the nose, it offers layers of dark cherry, forest floor, and subtle spice, with a gentle earthy complexity that reflects its time in bottle. The palate is harmonious and silky, with ripe red and dark fruit framed by fine tannins and a still-fresh line of acidity. There is real depth here, but also lift and grace, leading to a long, elegant finish. It is drinking beautifully now, though its balance and structure suggest it can continue to evolve gracefully for several more years.

Viininvalmistus
This Grand Cru comes from the upper parcels of Charmes-Chambertin, where old vines grow in limestone- and clay-rich soils that naturally encourage both concentration and finesse. The grapes are hand-harvested with strict selection, then fermented in small open vats before the wine is matured for around 18 months in new oak barrels, giving it structure, complexity, and a polished Burgundian frame.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with refined dishes such as duck breast, roast quail, wild mushroom risotto, lamb loin, or aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and if opened young, decant gently for 30–60 minutes to allow the aromatics to unfold. With bottle age, a brief decant is usually enough, or it can be served directly once settled.
