Lenhardt Mehringer Riesling Kabinett 2022 is a beautifully poised Mosel Riesling with a gentle touch of sweetness, lively freshness, and just 8% alcohol. It captures everything that makes Kabinett so appealing: bright fruit, slate-driven minerality, and a light, elegant style that feels both refreshing and effortlessly drinkable.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Riesling shows a pale, luminous colour that hints at its freshness and delicate style. The nose is expressive and distinctly Mosel, with aromas of green apple, tropical fruit, honey, mint, and lime blossom, all lifted by a subtle slate character. On the palate, it is juicy and mouth-filling, with the fruit sweetness balanced by a fine, racy acidity that keeps everything in harmony. The wine repeats its aromatic notes with clarity and energy, finishing clean and vibrant. While it is delicious already, the structure and acidity suggest it will continue to develop gracefully over the next few years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from steep slopes in Blattenberg and Zellerberg, where the old vines — now over 40 years old — are rooted in slate-rich Mosel soils. These challenging sites encourage low yields and concentrated fruit, and the steep terrain means that much of the work, including harvest, must be done by hand. Fermentation is stopped before all the natural grape sugar is converted into alcohol, preserving the Kabinett style’s signature balance of sweetness and freshness.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine is a superb aperitif and also works wonderfully on its own, especially when shared with good company. It pairs nicely with lightly spiced dishes, Asian cuisine, fresh cheeses, or salty snacks, and should be served well chilled, ideally around 8-10°C. Decanting is not necessary.

Weingut Lenhardt is a young but highly promising family estate in the Mosel, revived by siblings Christian and Eva Lenhardt with a clear focus on quality and site expression. Their family’s wine-growing roots go back generations, with the original vineyards on Blattenberg and Zellerberg established by their great-grandparents. After gaining experience abroad in regions such as Bordeaux, Portugal, and New Zealand, the siblings returned home and have quickly earned attention for wines that are helping to put Mosel firmly back in the spotlight.
