Mas Doix Doix 2022

Mas Doix Doix 2022 is a powerful yet finely tuned Priorat red that captures the essence of one of Spain’s most revered wine regions. Built primarily from Garnacha, with fruit from old vines rooted in Priorat’s iconic llicorella slate, it delivers remarkable depth, structure, and a distinct mineral edge that sets it apart.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark color that hints at its concentration. The nose is intensely expressive, with ripe blackberries, black cherries, dried herbs, liquorice, and subtle spicy oak notes adding complexity. On the palate, the wine is rich and layered, combining generous dark fruit with firm, mature tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish. This is a wine with impressive ageing potential, and time in bottle will only enhance its complexity and harmony. Over the years, its fruit, spice, and earthy elements are likely to integrate beautifully, revealing even greater nuance and elegance.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from old vines in Priorat, some over 100 years of age, growing in the region’s distinctive llicorella soils, which are known for producing wines with concentration, tension, and mineral character. Harvesting is done by hand with careful sorting to ensure only the best fruit is selected. Vinification focuses on precision and gentle extraction, followed by ageing in French oak barrels for around 14 to 16 months, depending on the character of the vintage.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Mas Doix Doix 2022 pairs beautifully with hearty dishes such as grilled or slow-cooked red meats, game, lamb, and rich stews. It also works well with mature cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended, especially if enjoyed young, to allow the wine to open fully and show its depth and aromatic complexity.
