R. López de Heredia Viña Bosconia Reserva 2012 is a classic Rioja red from one of Spain’s most iconic traditional producers. Made from a blend of Carignan, Grenache and Tempranillo, it stands out for its long ageing in American oak and the elegance that comes from patient bottle maturation.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Reserva shows a deep ruby color with a subtle brick-toned rim, a clear sign of development. The nose is layered and expressive, with notes of ripe red berries, spice, vanilla, tobacco and a hint of leather. On the palate, it is balanced and refined, offering plenty of red fruit, warm spice and a discreet touch of mocha. The tannins are soft and well integrated, while the finish is long, smooth and satisfying. Thanks to its traditional structure and extended ageing, it should continue to hold well for several years.

Viña Bosconia comes from Rioja, a region shaped by a temperate climate, old vineyards and soils well suited to slow-ripening red grapes. López de Heredia is known for working in a highly traditional way, with careful harvesting and long ageing in American oak barrels for around five years, followed by further bottle ageing before release. This patient approach gives the wine its distinctive complexity and mature style.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve at 16-18°C with grilled meats, lamb, game or aged cheeses, where its savoury depth and elegant spice can really shine. Decanting is recommended, especially if opening young, to allow the aromas to open fully and the wine to show its best expression.
