R. López de Heredia Viña Tondonia Blanco Gran Reserva 2004 is a remarkable aged white wine from one of Rioja’s most iconic producers. Crafted from Viura and Malvasía and released only after extensive maturation, it showcases the rare depth, complexity, and longevity that have made López de Heredia’s wines legendary.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Gran Reserva shows a deep golden hue that immediately signals its age and evolution. The nose is layered and expressive, with aromas of dried fruit, honey, nuts, spice, and subtle oxidative notes that are characteristic of the house style. On the palate, it is dry, full-bodied, and beautifully structured, with vibrant acidity balancing its rich, developed character. Flavours of ripe pear, almond, and gentle spice unfold into a long, refined finish, while its concentration and balance suggest it can continue to age gracefully for years to come.

Viininvalmistus
Made in Rioja from 90% Viura (Macabeo) and 10% Malvasía, this wine reflects the traditional white varieties of the region. It spent around six years maturing in old American oak barrels before extended bottle ageing, a patient process that has shaped its complexity, texture, and distinctive oxidative nuance.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roast poultry, rich fish dishes, creamy sauces, and mature cheeses, where its structure and savoury depth can shine. Serve lightly chilled at around 10–12°C, and consider decanting briefly if you wish to open up its aromatic layers, especially after long cellaring.
