Weingut Friedrich Becker’s 'Heydenreich' Pinot Noir GG 2018 is a powerful yet finely sculpted expression of Pinot Noir from one of the estate’s most admired sites. Built on limestone-rich soils with clay and loam, this Grand Cru-level wine combines depth, elegance, and serious aging potential, while still showing the pedigree and precision that have made Becker one of Germany’s most respected Pinot producers.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep, dark ruby hue that hints at its concentration and structure. The nose unfolds with layers of blackberry, cherry, tobacco, forest floor, and dark chocolate, creating an aromatic profile that is both complex and inviting. On the palate, the wine is driven by dark fruit, firm tannins, and a dense, focused core of flavor. There is real power here, but also balance and refinement, with the oak adding subtle depth rather than overwhelming the fruit. While it already offers plenty to enjoy now, this is a wine that should evolve beautifully over many years in the cellar.

Viininvalmistus
The 'Heydenreich' site is prized for its limestone cliffs beneath the surface and heavier clay-based topsoil, a combination that gives the wine both tension and richness. Vineyard work is carried out by hand, with naturally low yields to concentrate flavor and character in the grapes. Fermentation takes place over around three weeks in open vats, followed by 18 months of maturation in small French and German oak barrels.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir is an excellent match for game birds, roast duck, venison, mushroom-based dishes, and richly flavored veal or pork preparations. Serve it at around 16-18°C, and consider decanting for 1-2 hours if drinking young to help the aromas open and soften the tannins.
