Aalto 2021

Aalto 2021 is a powerful yet polished Ribera del Duero red, made entirely from Tempranillo from old vines, many of them 40 to 80 years old. Built with precision and depth, it combines concentrated fruit, oak complexity, and the unmistakable structure that has made Aalto one of the standout names in modern Spanish wine.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby colour with violet reflections, hinting at both freshness and intensity. The nose opens with dark berries such as blackberry and blackcurrant, layered with vanilla, toasted wood, spice, liquorice, subtle tobacco, and balsamic herbal notes. The palate is full and richly textured, with ripe tannins that bring structure without feeling aggressive. Fresh acidity keeps the wine balanced and lively, while the finish is long and complex, leaving dark fruit, spice, cocoa, toasted oak, and a touch of minerality. Aalto 2021 has the depth and balance to age well over the next several years.

Viininvalmistus
Aalto 2021 comes from Ribera del Duero in Castilla y León, a region known for producing intense, structured Tempranillo wines from high-quality old-vine sites. The grapes are carefully harvested and selected parcel by parcel before fermentation, followed by 16 to 18 months of ageing in a mix of French and American oak barrels, with a proportion of new wood adding extra complexity and polish.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for grilled lamb, roast beef, venison, beef stew, and richly flavoured dishes such as lamb with herbs or mushroom-based preparations. Serve at 16–18°C, and decant for about 1 to 2 hours if possible to allow the wine’s ароматics and structure to open fully.
