Aalto 2023

Aalto 2023 is a powerful yet finely tuned expression of Ribera del Duero, showing why this is one of Spain’s most respected wine regions. Crafted from old-vine Tempranillo by one of the great names of Spanish winemaking, it combines intensity, structure, and remarkable balance. This is a wine with serious depth and pedigree, but also the freshness and precision that make Aalto stand out.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Aalto 2023 is deep and dark, with a dense ruby-purple core that hints at its concentration. The nose opens with ripe black cherry, plum, and blackberry, followed by layers of spice, coffee, licorice, and subtle oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied and richly textured, with a core of dark fruit wrapped in silky tannins and a cool, vibrant line of acidity that keeps everything in balance. The finish is long, precise, and harmonious, and while it is already highly enjoyable now, it has the structure to evolve beautifully over the next 8–12 years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from 40- to 80-year-old Tempranillo vines, carefully hand-harvested and rigorously selected before vinification. The fruit reflects the character of Castilla y León, where warm days and cooler periods help preserve freshness alongside ripeness, giving the wine both power and lift. After fermentation, Aalto 2023 is aged for around 17 months in French and American oak barrels, adding complexity, spice, and polish without overpowering the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Aalto 2023 pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, lamb chops, roast beef, game, and rich dishes such as slow-braised short ribs or mushroom risotto. It also works well with aged Manchego and other firm cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking it young to allow the wine to open up fully.
