Château Suduiraut Sauternes 2017

Château Suduiraut Sauternes 2017 is a beautifully crafted sweet wine from one of the most prestigious names in Sauternes, Bordeaux. Made primarily from Sémillon with a touch of Sauvignon Blanc and shaped by the noble rot Botrytis cinerea, it offers remarkable richness, elegance, and depth—hallmarks of one of France’s most celebrated dessert wines.

In the glass, this Sauternes shows a brilliant golden hue that hints at its concentration and sweetness. The nose is layered and expressive, with aromas of candied fruits, honey, apricot, peach, white flowers, and subtle vanilla and spice from oak aging. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied with a creamy texture, yet the wine remains lifted by a fresh, vibrant acidity that keeps everything in balance. The finish is long and harmonious, leaving lingering impressions of ripe fruit and honey. While already enjoyable for its purity and freshness, it also has excellent aging potential, with the ability to gain even more complexity over time.

Château Suduiraut is located in the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux, where the cool, humid conditions of the region encourage the development of noble rot on the grapes. This microclimate allows the fruit to be harvested in multiple passes as the berries reach optimal concentration. Vinification is carefully managed to preserve the wine’s aromatic precision and balance, with oak aging contributing subtle texture, structure, and spice notes.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve this wine slightly chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, to highlight its freshness and aromatic complexity. It pairs wonderfully with fruit-based desserts, crème brûlée, foie gras, and blue cheeses. Decanting is generally not necessary, though a short period in the glass can help the aromas open beautifully.
