Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée 2019 is one of the benchmark wines of the Southern Rhône, admired for its depth, character, and remarkable value in the premium category. Built around a Grenache-dominated blend from 13 grape varieties, it captures the soul of Châteauneuf-du-Pape with both power and finesse. Makuprofiili
In the glass, the 2019 vintage shows a deep, concentrated dark-fruit profile. Aromas of blackberry, black plum, black tea, black pepper, fresh rosemary, and thyme rise from the glass, with time revealing further nuances of leather and sandalwood. On the palate, it is generous and layered, with plenty of dark fruit, clove, white pepper, and the savory herbal notes echoed from the nose. The wine has impressive structure and energy, combining richness with balance and a long, confident finish. It is already highly appealing, but will continue to improve over the next 5 years and can cellar beautifully for 20 to 25 years.

Viininvalmistus
The Cuvée Réservée is sourced from the classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroir, where warm Mediterranean conditions and the region’s galets roulés, sand, and clay soils help produce wines of concentration and complexity. Harvesting is done with care, and the grapes are fermented whole cluster in cement vats with native yeasts, following the same philosophy used for the estate’s top cuvée. The wine is then aged for two years in used oak barrels, allowing structure and aromatics to develop without overwhelming the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural match for rich, savory dishes such as lamb, beef short ribs, game, duck, or herb-roasted Mediterranean cuisine. It also works beautifully with aged hard cheeses and dishes featuring rosemary, thyme, or black pepper. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if enjoyed young to let the wine fully open up.
