Domaine du Pégaü’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée 2021 is one of the appellation’s most admired benchmarks, and for good reason. Built on an impressive blend of 13 grape varieties, led by old-vine Grenache, it combines generous power with remarkable finesse and has long been a favorite among Rhône lovers seeking both character and longevity. Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, насыщенный ruby-garnet core, hinting at the richness within. The nose opens with blackberries, dark plums, black tea, black pepper, and a vivid herbal lift of rosemary and thyme; with air, notes of leather and sandalwood begin to emerge, adding complexity and depth. The palate is broad and intense, yet polished, with layers of dark fruit, clove, white pepper, and those signature Mediterranean herbs carried through from the aroma. Despite its concentration, the wine retains balance and detail, finishing with impressive length. It will continue to evolve beautifully over the next 5 years and can comfortably age at the top level for 20–25 years.

Viininvalmistus
Domaine du Pégaü works in a classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape style, sourcing fruit from the region’s sun-drenched galets roulés, sandy plots, and mixed terroirs that help build both richness and freshness. For Cuvée Réservée, the grapes are harvested by hand, with whole clusters pressed and fermented in concrete vats without added yeast, preserving purity and expression. The wine is then matured for two years in older oak barrels, allowing it to develop complexity without overwhelming the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural match for hearty dishes such as lamb shank, beef daube, game, roasted duck, or Provençal stews with herbs and olives. It also works beautifully with aged hard cheeses and richly seasoned mushroom dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and while decanting is not strictly necessary, an hour or two of air will help the wine show its full aromatic depth and texture.
