Hacienda Monasterio 2021 is a refined and focused expression of Ribera del Duero, where freshness, structure, and terroir take center stage. Crafted from estate-grown fruit and shaped by a more balanced vintage, it delivers precision, depth, and the firm, elegant character that has made the property one of the region’s most respected names.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep, concentrated color that hints at its dark-fruited intensity. The nose opens with notes of black cherry, violet, crushed stone, and a subtle cedar nuance, giving the wine both aromatic purity and complexity. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet cool-toned, with dense fruit wrapped in a precise tannic frame. The texture is firm and lively, with excellent length and a clear sense of place. While it can be enjoyed now with some air, it has the structure and balance to develop beautifully over several years in the cellar.

Viininvalmistus
The fruit comes from Hacienda Monasterio’s own vineyards between Pesquera and Valbuena de Duero, one of the most prized areas of Ribera del Duero. The vines grow in limestone-rich soils, contributing to the wine’s tension, minerality, and sense of precision. The blend is led by Tinto Fino, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot adding structure and nuance. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts, followed by aging in French oak barrels, around 30% of them new, to build complexity without overpowering the wine’s natural balance.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, grilled beef, game dishes, and slow-cooked meats, as well as mature hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young, to help the wine open up and show its full aromatic range.
